FRAMEWORK OF A JOINT PLAN FOR ACTION FOR THE PROMOTION OF THE VERIFICATION OF THE FATE OF THE MISSING PERSONS.
A framework of a joint plan for action for the promotion of the
verification of the fate of the missing persons has been adopted and
cosigned by the Pancyprian Committee of Parents and Relatives of
Undeclared Prisoners and Missing Persons, the Pancyprian Association for
the Defence of Human Rights, the Commitee for the Reinstatement of Human
Rights throughout Cyprus and the International Association for the
Defence of Human Rights. Details of the framework of the joint plan for
action have been announced in a press conference held in Nicosia on the
9th of December 1998.

The Turkish side does not implement the agreement of the 31st of July
1997 between the Turkish Cypriot leader Mr. Denktash and the President
of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Clerides regarding the Missing Persons issue.

MEETING OF THE 100 MEMBER CONSULTATIVE BODY. ANNOUNCEMENT.
In a panegyric meeting and with the participation of 93 representatives
from the whole of Cyprus, the 100 Member Consultative Body of the Committee
implemented a previous decision to nominate as an Honorary President of
the Committee, the retired ex-president of the committee Mr. Yiannis Serghides.
In the same meeting the for ever memorable Andreas Fysentzides and Aristides
Constantinou, who served as members of the Committee for a series of years,
were also honored.

The Relatives' Committee asks for a thorough investigation of every Missing Person's case:
With this letter, the Pancyprian Committee of Parents and Relatives
of Missing Persons, addresses the newly appointed Third Member of the UN
Investigative Committee for the Cyprus Missing Persons, asking for a thorough
investigation of every Missing Person's case, in order to acquire specific
and convincing information.

week of July, 1998. The Turkish invasion in Cyprus started in July, 1974
and many of the 1587 Greek Cypriots who are still missing today were captured
during that month.

Fate of one missing person traced
Nicosia, Mar 9 (PIO)
An American citizen of Greek Cypriot origin, declared missing since
the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, has been confirmed dead.
According to press reports, the then sixteen-year-old Andreas Kassapis
has been identified through DNA tests. He is one of five Greek Cypriots
with American citizenship, missing since the Turkish invasion.

Nicosia, Jan 27 (CNA) -- UN Secretary General Kofi Anan welcomes developments concerning the exchange of information about the location of graves of missing persons in Cyprus.
The UN Secretary General's Spokesman, Fred Eckhard, speaking to reporters,
referred to the exchange of information last week between Greek Cypriot
Humanitarian Affairs Commissioner, Takis Christopoulos and Turkish Cypriot
representative, Rustem Tatar, in the presence of UN envoy, Gustave Feissel.

Exchange of Information on Missing Persons
Nicosia, Jan 23 (CNA) -- Representatives of the Greek and Turkish Cypriot sides exchanged today information about the location of graves of missing persons.
The two representatives agreed to "meet again soon" and said they would
continue their work to obtain information on the graves of more Greek and
Turkish Cypriot missing and described today's encounter as an important
step forward.
