Activities program for May 2000

The Organization of Parents and Relatives of Undeclared Prisoners and Missing Persons is organizing the 16th Charity Marathon for the Missing. Below is the program of the demonstrations that will take place between May 3rd and May 14th, 2000.

Wednesday, May 3 2000 10:30
Press Conference at the Holly Archdiocese of Cyprus.
Saturday, May 6 2000 09:00
Prayer for the discovery of the Missing Persons at the church of Ayios Alexandros (Missing Person' s church) at Pyrga.

16:00
Demonstration of Youth Centers at the Ledra Palace road block and Protest March to the Holly Archdiocese of Cyprus.

18:00
End of the Protest March at the Holly Archdiocese of Cyprus. Addressings by the President of the Republic, the Archbishop, the President of the Parliement, the Organization of Parents and Relatives of Missing Persons and the Youth Centers. The artistic diligence of the demonstration will be assigned to Mr. Pambos Sakkas.

Declarations / Announcemets / Memorandums by Public Organizations and Parties in favor of the Missing Persons issue.
Wednesday, May 10 2000 All day
Demonstrations of Relatives of Missing Persons and delivery of resolutions at foreign Embassies.
Thursday, May 11 2000 All day
School activities about the Missing Persons. Circulation of a Message by the Minister of Education and Culture and organization of demonstrations in schools with subject "Missing Persons Remembrance".
Friday, May 12 2000 10:30 - 11:55
Broadcast of special programs about the Missing Persons issue by radio stations.

11:55 - 12:00
Five-minute work stoppage across the island and broadcast of a special message by the Archbishop. Projection of a five-minute film by TV stations before the main news bulletin.

Saturday, May 13 2000 09:00 - 12:00
Seminar: "Missing Persons of Cyprus - Prospectives for a Solution".
Sunday, May 14 2000 All day
Prayer for the discovery of the Missing Persions in all the churches of Cyprus.

Δέηση υπέρ της Ανεύρεσης των Αγνοουμένων στον Ιερό Ναό Αγίου Αλεξάνδρου (Αγνοουμένων) στα Πυργά.

Εκδήλωση Κέντρων Νεότητας στο Οδόφραγμα του Λήδρα Πάλας και Πορεία προς την Ιερά Αρχιεπισκοπή Κύπρου.

18:00
Τερματισμός Πορείας στην Ιερά Αρχιεπισκοπή Κύπρου. Προσφωνήσεις από τον Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας, τον Αρχιεπίσκοπο, τον Πρόεδρο της Βουλής, την Οργάνωση Συγγενών Αγνοουμένων και τα Κέντρα Νεότητας. Έγκριση ψηφισμάτων. Η καλλιτεχνική επιμέλεια της εκδήλωσης θα ανατεθεί στον κ. Πάμπο Σακκά.

Διακηρύξεις / Ανακοινώσεις / Αποστολή Υπομνημάτων από Μαζικές Οργανώσεις και Κόμματα υπέρ του θέματος των Αγνοουμένων.
Τετάρτη, 10 Μαΐου 2000 Ολοήμερη εκδήλωση
Εκδηλώσεις Συγγενών Αγνοουμένων και επίδοση ψηφισμάτων στις ξένες Πρεσβείες.
Πέμπτη, 11 Μαΐου 2000 Ολοήμερη εκδήλωση
Ενδοσχολικές εκδηλώσεις για το θέμα των Αγνοουμένων. Κυκλοφορία Εγκυκλίου Υπουργού Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού και Διοργάνωση ενδοσχολικών εκδηλώσεων με θέμα "Θύμιση Αγνοουμένων".

Μετάδοση ειδικών προγραμμάτων για το θέμα των Αγνοουμένων από τα ραδιόφωνα.

11:55 - 12:00
Πραγματοποίηση πεντάλεπτης στάσης εργασίας και γνωστοποίηση της με ειδικό μήνυμα του Μακαριώτατου. Προβολή ταινίας μικρής διάρκειας (5') από τους τηλεοπτικούς σταθμούς πριν το κύριο δελτίο ειδήσεων.

Κυριακή, 14 Μαΐου 2000 Ολοήμερη εκδήλωση
Δέηση για ανεύρεση των Αγνοουμένων σε όλους τους ναούς της Κύπρου.
